Storm Window Installation

All Harvey Storm Windows are carefully engineered in every aspect to ensure maximum performance and thermal efficiency.

  1. Locate and remove prepackaged installation screws. If necessary, remove temporary shipping clip with screwdriver. Immediately replace clip in order to keep master frame from spreading during the installation process.
  2. Run a bead of caulk along the knife edge channel of master frame on both sides and on top.
  3. Set the window in the appropriate opening and install screws. IMPORTANT: Drive the screws in straight. If the screws are angled, the frame will bow and the operation may be affected.
  4. If the unit is supplied with a bottom expander lower it to the sill and remove any shipping clips. If sill is crowned or out of square, it may require caulking, but make sure to leave both dimpled areas of expander free for water release.

NOTE: Because all of our windows are ordered, and custom made to your specifications, we can only accept returns if the unit is defective. We cannot accept returns if the wrong size was ordered. Furthermore, the manufacturers warranty is defendant upon proper installation. If you feel that you are unable to complete a proper installation, we suggest you inquire about our installation services.
